Hi, I'm Ms L. (Heng Liu)

I'm a bilingual counsellor supporting young people, parents and families through life's challenges with warmth, understanding and genuine connection.

I believe meaningful change begins when people feel truly heard.

Whether you're reaching out for yourself, your child or your family, I'm glad you're here.

I don't believe counselling is about fixing people.

I believe it's about creating a safe space where people can slow down, make sense of their experiences, and reconnect with themselves.

Sometimes that means finding answers.

Sometimes it means asking better questions.

Sometimes it's simply knowing you don't have to figure everything out alone.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working with people in different roles and environments.

Those experiences taught me that behind confidence, success or a calm appearance, people are often carrying stories that remain unseen.

They shaped the way I work today — with curiosity, compassion and without judgement.

My approach

My approach is warm, collaborative and respectful.

Rather than telling people what they should do, I believe the answers often emerge through curiosity, reflection and genuine conversation.

My role is to walk alongside you, helping you better understand your experiences and discover what feels right for you.

My experience

Working with young people every day has taught me something important.

Behind every behaviour is a story waiting to be understood.

Whether it's anxiety, school stress, friendship challenges, family conflict or low self-esteem, every person's experience deserves curiosity rather than judgement.

Working with young people continually reminds me that when they feel genuinely heard and understood, they often discover strengths they didn't realise they already had.

Working together

Every person is different.

That's why I tailor each session to your individual needs, personality and goals.

I offer counselling in both English and Mandarin and welcome people from all cultural backgrounds.

My hope is that you'll leave each session feeling a little lighter, a little clearer, and a little more connected with yourself than when you arrived.

Beyond the counselling room

I believe healing doesn't always happen through big breakthroughs.

Sometimes it begins with slowing down.

With feeling heard.

With having space to breathe, reflect and simply be yourself.

Outside of work, I find that same sense of calm in books, yoga, coffee and time in nature.

It's a rhythm I value in my own life—and one I hope to bring into every counselling session.
